“Try not to resist the changes that come your way. Instead, let life live through you. And do not worry that your life is turning upside down. How do you know that the side you are used to is better than the one to come?”
Rumi
I am willing to consider the unconsidered.
And, I’m willing to let that change me. As it will, and it must.
I’ll wriggle into a larger, but messier self-concept, that scrapes the edges of my earlier self.
There’s a refreshing new willingness to embrace surprise. Leaning into, rather than bracing against.
Opening myself to the challenge and disappointment that inevitably hitchhike alongside uncertainty.
Even pain gets an invite, these days, when it knocks at my door. Reluctantly, greeted. Yet, welcome to share a cup of coffee and slice of cake.
My eyes are wide open in willingness.
And also, to unwillingness.
Paying heed, as I do, to the padlock securing its inalienable sovereignty. Its right to thrive in these electrifying times.
Let it be noted that unwillingness occupies an exceptionally large seat.
The unwillingness to accept what is unacceptable.
I am outraged by the crazy lies, deceit and suppression that are hanging over our global community, like a drizzly, chilling mist.
Nauseated by the censorship and misrepresentation.
Exhausted with coercion and the oppressive intensity of information shutdown.
Disgusted at how short-sighted profits get to cut-in at the front of the line, privileged over planetary well-being and sustainability.
Appalled that good ole greed and myopia should continue being subsidized with a full access pass, co-opting new paradigm wholistic visions and restorative practices.
Along with a blank cheque to the ‘always done it that way’ crowd, who are running amok with their recklessness — trampling the life out of our precious Earth.
Apologetic for my own complicity as cosigner to this loathsome mess, with my tax dollars and mute passivity.
“There are consequences to ignoring consequences – that are a consequence of blatant unwillingness to learn from consequences.”
Craig D. Lounsbrough
Yes, I am willing to step out on a limb for authenticity.
I refuse the implacability of status quo!
Conspiring, instead, with alchemical wizardry to escort pain back to its rightful domain, as a mighty change agent, in service to grand-scale metamorphosis.
The only role it was ever meant to play.
No longer permitting pain to define us – but, to divine us.
Releasing identity with brokenness, stepping fully into our magnificence as Spirit in human form.
Unwillingness is the willingness to stand up and be counted.
And baby, you bet I am willing to wrap my arms around the impossible outcome — a startling, but inevitable resurrection.
“What if the world is holding its breath – waiting for you to take the place that only you can fill?”

Dawn-Dyanna,
You have written about the choice to change in a powerful way. To choose to consider the previously unconsidered is so very empowering because it removes knee jerk reaction (and the feeling of helplessness…) to the back burner and recognizes the possibility of a new outcome not previously considered. There is always a choice in what lens we use to view the world and you have expressed that in an authentic and very real way. Thank you!
Thank you so much, Alyce! I adore that you’ve received the heart of this blog post. Thank you for expressing it so beautifully!
Sending love.
The struggle of the progressive never ends as long as greed and cruelty exist in the human heart. Never give up. Look at the progress we have made in the last century for human rights. Let’s never stop our hard work to improve the planet.
Right on, brother!
Thank you.
