If you surrender to the air, you can ride it.
Toni Morrison
As the winds of life blow through, what choice do we have but to bend with them?
Clear enough, that we can’t halt the breezes – yet, we can decide how we’ll set our sails.
How might we orient our passage to harness favor from Nature’s forces? For the benefit of ourselves and all of earth’s denizens?
For centuries, martial artists have taught that we create resonance when we’re connected to our hara – “the body’s core energy center for physical, emotional and spiritual potency.”
When we bend to the rhythm of that vital pulse, harmonizing our movements with the disposition of our surroundings, a natural state of Flow emerges.
Actions arise — with the soul power to make wrongs right.
Opposing ‘what is’ in life, undermines innate balance. We stand brittle, subject to fracture and breakage.
On the other side of Resistance is the Flow.

Yielding like sea kelp, to the sway of inner and outer tides, we cultivate resilience and steadiness.
A capacity to meet circumstance without harm.
So too, as when we wage peace, rather than oppose war. We anchor equanimity.
As the influence of peace broadens, the energies that gave rise to war are expelled.
One day, we humans will master the potency of our inner flame. And begin to extinguish the ravaging fires.
Our greatest ability as humans is not to change the world; but to change ourselves.
Mahatma Gandhi
