Child of mystery, you are
a pulse of nature, like
slap thunder or splash lightning
and soft spring drizzle.
Drenched in the drama
of life’s loudness, rattle and shake,
jostling each nerve
into bright daylight.
Screeching scare
or angry ache
shock your senses awake; opening
a glimpse of the holy face.
Unseen, but for a shiver
in your long-shuttered heart.
Living in the Bones
is splendor laid bare –-
seized in your gasp
one second before.

Trigger finger toggled between “Living In The Bones” and “Living In The Bones 2” on the browser’s fore and aft arrows, with visions of the ocean slapping old sailing ship’s sides as an accompanying metaphor.
